At Birmingham Business School we’ve organized and hosted international conferences in all of our main academic disciplines recently – economics, finance, leadership, management, and marketing. Each conference is very different, and they’re all similar. For us, there are three key reasons for doing this – first, we contribute to advancing knowledge in our disciplines; second, we emphasise that our school and university is central to these academic fields; and last, but definitely not least, we show off our university and its city.
