I am a NIHR research professor and passionate about generating academic evidence to help support policy-making across the region that helps to prevent population obesity. Obesity is a major driver of health-inequalities and we have to work together to reduce the obesogenic environment that we all live, work and play in.
This is about a whole system approach and moving away from the common narrative of ‘eat less, move more’. Being part of the network enables me to connect with like-minded ambassadors so we can work together more effectively, and help to make the West Midlands a healthier, happier, more productive place to live.
