The Eastside Rooms, Birmingham’s newest residential conference centre, is celebrating its one-year anniversary today, and reflecting on a successful first year of operations thanks to its ‘relationships first’ strategy.
The venue is unique in that it launched in the middle of the pandemic, however its focus on building long term industry relationships from the outset has seen the business finish with an exceptional year of trading, amazing feedback from clients, and stable partnerships throughout its operations.
Now, with the Commonwealth Games due to arrive in the city this summer, and with the venue’s surrounding area of Birmingham’s East side seeing continual investment, the business is feeling bullish about 2022 and beyond.
“2020 was tough, 2021 was unpredictable and 2022 is going to be incredible. Basically, we’ve been in the market for two years, open for one, and we won’t see a ‘normal’ year until 2023,” commented Leanne Bladen, Sales, and Marketing Director, The Eastside Rooms. “In a way it has helped us focus on what we wanted to be and how we wanted to be known in the market, a business that cares about its relationships and is incredibly proud of its product. It’s made for an outstanding opening year for everyone.”
In the meantime, the launch of HS2 just a few minutes’ walk from the venue, and the growing international connectivity available from its local airport, means The Eastside Rooms is looking to expand its business internationally. Equally, the continued development of the three universities already in the Eastside area is reinforcing its identity as the ‘Knowledge Quarter’ to the city, making it ideal for industry specific association and higher learning conferences.
“We’ve a lot to look forward to in 2022 and beyond, and we have big ambitions to benefit from Birmingham’s growing international recognition,” continues Leanne. “The Birmingham story is being told all over the world and we’re ready to welcome international delegates to the city again.”
