How can trees contribute to the quality of place for both people and nature? How can they contribute to net zero ambitions for our built and natural environments?

Kevin McCloud MBE FICFor (Hon), host of Channel 4’s popular Grand Designs, and Gary Newman, Chief Executive of Woodknowledge Wales, are set to chair lively discussions examining these questions. Early Bird tickets are now on sale for Trees, People and the Built Environment 5 (TPBE5) – the meeting place for collaboration and networking for all those working in the built and natural environment sectors. Book early to avoid disappointment!

TPBE5 is a partnership between leading professional institutes and groups from across multiple disciplines. The conference is brought to you by the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), Chartered Institute of Highways & Transportation (CIHT), Construction Industry Research and Information Association (CIRIA), Institute of Chartered Foresters (ICF), The Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), Landscape Institute (LI), Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and Trees and Design Action Group (TDAG).

Sue James FICFor (Hon) RIBA, chair of the programme steering group, commented:

“For this fifth TPBE, the steering group decided to focus on working together across the built and natural environment by inviting some of the key professional institutions and organisations which could influence positive outcomes for trees – for people, for place, for nature and for buildings to curate sessions within their areas of specialisation.

“We are pleased with the varied programme that this has produced and the opportunity for all who attend to network across sectors to achieve that much needed collaboration.”
