Birmingham Rum Festival

About

Birmingham Rum Festival is back this summer for its 4th year, offering the city another opportunity to discover new rums, as well as the people and stories behind each brand and bottle.

There will be a fantastic line-up of rum brands to enjoy over the whole weekend at The Cuban Embassy, from Saturday 29th - 30th June.

These include Neptune Rum, the world's most awarded rum of 2018, due to itsluxurious blend of authentic golden rums and Burning Barn Rum, a fusion of both smoked and spiced rum created just outside Guyana.

New kid on the block is the ultra-premium ‘24 Royale’ Caribbean rum; which delivers a balanced taste with a delicately rounded finish.  A truly 21st century rum!

Also exhibiting are Goslings and El Dorado who are featuring their Tiki Lovers Pineapple Rum from The Bitter Truth. Taking inspiration from old Caribbean distiller methods, it gives its' rum a delicious, fruity dimension.

You can also get to try an exciting new rum punch from Baynoir. It’s sure to be a big hit in the summer sunshine!

A couple of other fantastic brands coming are Soggy Dollar, Gold Winner of the 2019 Global Spirits Master Awards and Indonesian rum brand, Nusa Cana.

Inspired by the Island of the God's, Nusa Cana brings back the forgotten spirit of Indonesian rum, once the toast of punch house and bordellos across the world.

Nusa Cana is a blend of island rums, set apart by its rugged Indonesian heart, fresh aroma, sugarcane flavour and a straight up attitude.

We are also lucky to have Indie Brands with us again who never stop in their quest to source distinctive new brands. Indie Brands was born out of a desire to redefine what it means to be a drinks distributor. They scout the world with the aim of connecting original and distinctive drink producers with like-minded individuals.

Indie Brands will be showcasing Matusalem- platino, anejo, GR15 and GR23, Cargo Cult (Original and Banana) as well as Casa D’Aristii (Kalani, Huana).

As well as tasting the rums, guests can learn from rum experts and brand representatives as they introduce you to their range, and give you inside knowledge on the distillation process.

After there is also the opportunity to browse the Rum Shop and buy a special bottle of rum or two to enjoy back at home.

The annual summer fiesta also offers exotic street food brimming with the flavours of Latin America and the Caribbean islands which guests can enjoy as they sip on exclusive signature rum cocktails.

The Cuban cocktails are created exactly the way they are made in Havana providing allowing for guests to experience the well-crafted rum blends in a new and unique way. Think heritage, drink quality.

Creating the perfect summer festival atmosphere, live performers will be providing a soundtrack of salsa, samba and reggae music so that visitors can enjoy tropical tunes whilst on their journey of rum discovery.

So join the fun this summer for a celebration, chat to experts and discover new rums, sip cocktails, enjoy live music and feast on delicious street food. Tickets are from £15 and on sale now. VIP tickets are £25.
