Why Birmingham
The city welcomes major events and visitors like no other. With undeniable connectivity, located at the heart of the UK, more than 36,000 bed spaces available for delegates and an incredible range of world-class venues and state-of-the-art facilities, Birmingham continues to be the city of choice for both national and international conferences and events.
We have a a rich diversity, and the confidence to express it. Our food scene has seen the city transform itself into the ultimate dining destination from Michelin delights to award-winning street food.
We're one of the ultimate shopping destinations, home to the likes of the iconic Selfridges building and the Jewellery Quarter, from where an incredible 40% of all UK jewellery originates.
Our colourful arts scene includes the stunning Symphony Hall, with its resident orchestra the CBSO (City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra). The region’s exciting history has also left visitors with a number of exciting attractions to discover, including Cadbury World, the National Trust Back to Backs and the Black Country Living Museum.
More people than ever before are talking about Birmingham, and we want our story to be heard. Over recent years, there has been an incredible change in the city – including the opening of Europe’s largest library and the £600 million redevelopment of New Street station. As we look to the excitement in the future, Birmingham has secured the Commonwealth Games in 2022 as well a regional win with our neighbouring city Coventry - the new City of Culture in 2021.
Furthermore, we continue to offer outstanding event support through our Birmingham Convention Bureau, with benefits to both organisers and delegates. Our aim is to make sure every visitor to Birmingham receives the best possible welcome, and a truly unforgettable time while they are here.
