West Midlands Fire Service is proud to host this year’s ‘Festival of Rescue’ for the United Kingdom Rescue Organisation (UKRO).

And YOU’RE invited!

Join us at Smithfield in the centre of Birmingham on Fri 30 Sept and Sat 1 Oct 2022.

Hundreds of firefighters from across the UK and beyond will be competing to be crowned ‘best of the best’ in a range of rescue skills:

> rope rescue from height

> cutting people out of crashed vehicles

> treating injured people

> search and rescue

For the first time, the festival will also include challenges for Fire Cadets plus the UK’s Fittest Firefighter contest.

Not forgetting our water rescue challenges - at The Lloyds in Ironbridge on 30 Sept and at Old Turn Junction behind Birmingham’s SeaLife centre on 1 Oct.

Other attractions at Smithfield will include fairground rides, food, fire engines and lots more to do and see.

And, if you keep your eyes on the sky on the Saturday, you’ll see the world-famous ‘Red Devils’, the British Army’s parachute display team quite literally dropping in!
