About

Visit the award-winning Black Country Living Museum and experience 300 years of history like no other.

See history brought to life and discover the story of the Black Country at our open-air living museum. Meet our historic characters who’ll show you what it was like to live and work in one of the first industrialised landscapes in Britain, as you explore 26 acres of reconstructed shops, pubs and houses.

Learn more about our Forging Ahead project, as we gain new buildings and objects that take our story into the 1940s, ‘50s and ‘60s, up to the closure of the Baggeridge Coal Mine in 1968 - bringing about the end of a unique era for the Black Country.

There’s plenty for all the family to see and do at Black Country Living Museum. From watching live demonstrations and taking part in old fashioned street games, to visiting our vintage cinema and enjoying our traditional fish and chips, there’s truly something for everyone.
