TRICHOTOMY
Acclaimed Australian piano trio TRICHOTOMY make their debut appearance at the Newhampton Arts Centre, as part of their UK/Europe tour, performing material from their brilliant new release TO VANISH.
With a history as a trailblazing group in the Australian jazz scene, the trio became known to UK audiences after a string of celebrated albums on the NAIM label, and repeated tours to clubs around the country.
With a 20 year history of performing together, collaborations with dance companies, jazz, folk and classical artists around the world, and tours to Japan, China, Canada, South America, Australia and New Zealand, this is a group that thrive on the spontaneity of the trio format. According to The Guardian, the group 'vivaciously balances thematic eloquence with tight-knit polyphonic sophistication', and has managed to carve out a distinctive sound, full of melodic detail and rich improvised interplay.
