Reopening is not Recovery: Virtual roundtable discussion

About

A new era is underway for the region’s tourism and cultural sectors as they find the best way to recover economically from temporary closure and to mitigate the risks from Covid-19 for visitors and staff.

How can those currently unable to re-open survive and keep their customer base engaged?

What is the best way to market your business after a such a devastating crisis?

What difference can strong leadership make?

Where are the seeds of growth and how can we optimise these?

Join the West Midlands Growth Company, the West Midlands Regional Board for Tourism, Cultural Response Unit and leaders from across the region’s tourism & culture sectors for a virtual roundtable discussion. Experts will share insights, reactions and predictions as we consider the future of the West Midlands’ £12.6 billion visitor and cultural economy.

The event will be compered by Professor David Roberts, Professor of English and National Teaching Fellow, Dean of the Arts, Design and Media faculty, Birmingham City University. David is also a Trustee of the Birmingham Hippodrome and the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.

Confirmed speakers include:

  • Janet Uttley, Head of Business Transformation Project, VisitBritain
  • Martin Sutherland, CEO, Coventry City of Culture Trust and Chair of the WMCA Cultural Leadership Board
  • Sally Ievers, Postgraduate Programme Manager, University College Birmingham
