The Old Rep is an iconic venue that occupies a unique place in theatre history as Britain's first purpose-built repertory theatre. Opened in 1913, it was the original home the Birmingham Repertory Company led by Sir Barry Jackson. The theatre has been well-preserved and retains many original features from its early days including a mirror rumoured to have been requested by Sir Laurence Olivier himself. Just as in the days of the repertory company, The Old Rep strives to engage, train and entertain the next generation of artists and theatre lovers.
Birmingham's Clean Air Zone came into force Tuesday 1st June 2021. Charges will be applied daily. A non-compliant vehicle driving in the Zone will pay once for the day, then may drive in the area without limit on that day. You can find out if you will be charged by inputting your vehicle registration details into the Government vehicle checker. There are several car parks within a short walking distance of The Old Rep. We can offer an exclusive rate of 24 hours for £6.20 at APCOA China Town Car Park, Wrottesley Street, B5 4RT. Collect your ticket at the car park and validate it at Box Office or Hinckley Bar.
