Located in the Heart of England, Coventry is easily accessible by both car and public transport, and situated in the city centre you will find Coventry Cathedral, where splendid medieval history meets modern architecture to stunning and poignant effect.
Situated a short walk from both Coventry railway station and even closer to Pool Meadow bus station, Coventry Cathedral lies at the centre of Coventry both physically and emotionally. A visit to the Cathedral begins in our ruined medieval cathedral, destroyed by enemy raids during the Second World War. Housing many moving artworks, the Ruins now stand as a powerful testament to the horrors of war.
Designed by Sir Basil Spence as a symbol of hope and reconciliation our magnificent ‘New’ Cathedral, stands proudly alongside the Ruins. Featuring works by some of the greatest artists of the 1950s and 60s the New Cathedral is an iconic example of 20th century architecture.
In order to really bring our story to life we recommend pre-booking a tour from one of our expert guides. Alternatively for those short on time a guidebook is available to purchase from our gift shop.
