1. Ensure that you have identified clear event objectives
2. Set an event budget that is easy to use and can be regularly updated

4. Select a venue that is appropriate for the number of delegates and that will help your achieve event objectives*
5. Make a project timeline giving you clear indications of when activities need to be completed and ensure all involved are regularly updated
6. Organise accommodation and hold a room allocation while delegates book, if necessary*
7. Identify any possible risks and factor them in to your planning
8. Create procedures for key activities such as delegate registration and managing sponsors
9. Organise any social events that may be required during the conference or event, such as theatre trips or restaurant bookings*
9. Arrange any marketing and PR activity such as branding, a dedicated website and welcome literature for delegates*
10. Confirm any travel arrangements in advance
