Join us for Meet Birmingham Showcase 2012 – explore the city and plan your next event on the 22nd & 23rd November, in association with M&IT
If you’ve always wanted to know more about Birmingham and its venues, this is the perfect opportunity. Sign up to attend and we’ll show you why Birmingham is one of the UK’s most popular conference and events destinations. Buyers who attend will get the chance to tour some of the city’s best conference and events venues as well as hold face-to-face sales appointments with venues and suppliers who can make your next event one to remember.
The Meet Birmingham Showcase 2012 is free of charge to organisers (including accommodation and all catering) and Chiltern Railways will provide complimentary travel to any buyer travelling on their route from London Marylebone to Birmingham Moor Street. The Showcase follows last year’s successful inaugural event where 93% of the buyers who attended said they would definitely book or consider one of the venues that they saw as a result. This year’s event has been developed to show an even greater choice of venues and give buyers a real feel for Birmingham’s true, welcoming and ‘can do’ personality.
The venue tours will include the below city and region venues:
- Birmingham City Football Club
- Conference Aston
- Edgbaston Stadium
- Forest of Arden, A Marriott and Hotel and Country Club
- The NEC
- venuebirmingham
During the event you will experience the city’s outstanding hospitality, staying at Malmaison Birmingham, a stunning boutique hotel housed in the city’s converted former Royal Mail sorting office, The Mailbox, now a city landmark, home to restaurants and shops including Harvey Nichols.
Buyers will also get to taste the culinary delights from Aston Villa Football Club’s award-winning VMF restaurant, and learn how they are championing sustainability in the hospitality industry. Around 80 per cent of the produce used at the restaurant is sourced from within a 40-mile radius of Villa Park, with many of the fruits and vegetables used being grown in the club’s own allotments.
On the second day, buyers will meet with 8-10 suppliers on a one to one basis. These will take place in the city’s historic Town Hall, where some of the world’s greatest political speakers, from Joseph Chamberlain to Margaret Thatcher and musicians from Elgar to Black Sabbath and Mendelssohn to The Beatles have taken to the stage.
