Liberal Democrats conference boost to Birmingham

The Liberal Democrats held their Spring Conference in Birmingham from 12 – 14 March 2010 at the ICC.

The conference attracted around 2000 delegates and provided a welcome boost to the city’s hotels, restaurants, bars, shops and other businesses.

Bespoke city dressing welcomed delegates to the city and a dedicated website was created offering accommodation, travel and leisure information – www.libdemsinbirmingham2010.com.

Key organisations in Birmingham worked together to ensure the conference was a success and to pave the way for the return of the Party for its annual autumn conference in 2011, set to attract around 6000 delegates.

Marketing Birmingham and The NEC Group have been responsible for negotiating and securing the deal with the Party to bring their two conferences to The ICC, generating an estimated total of £11m for the regional economy.
