Continental Christmas at The ICC Birmingham

5th Aug 2010

Leading European convention centre The ICC Birmingham is offering Christmas banqueting opportunities with a small twist this year, following research and consultation with clients.

This year’s theme will be a ‘Continental Christmas’, and was developed following a survey undertaken by the venue team earlier this year which indicated that clients were looking for more creative and less traditional seasonal party events.

The survey revealed that the majority of respondents looked at the cost of hosting a Christmas party event over anything else, with location and quality of service coming up close behind. The need for a classic festive theme came close to the bottom of the results, with only 3% of respondents citing it as a deciding factor in planning an event.

Richard Smith, Senior Account Director, The ICC, said: “This survey, combined with our recent client symposium, provides us with an real insight into this industry and gives us an advantage in terms of understanding exactly what our customers want.

“The concept for this Christmas menu is simple: good quality food at an affordable price, great entertainment and the flexibility to cover both party nights and bespoke, private bookings. We’re sticking to a table service dinner with live entertainment, as this was by far the event that most of our survey respondents enjoyed.

“We are continually looking to refine the products that we offer our customers, from event space and technology to the banqueting and catering offering, and through this kind of research we can continue to provide innovative and cost-effective event solutions.”

The menu, which is priced at under £50 per head, includes an Italian starter, British main course of traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings, and a French dessert, with the Continental theme extending throughout the event space.

The ICC Birmingham’s Christmas Party nights will be held at the venue on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 December 2010, with entertainment provided by a live band and DJ.
