New developments

Birmingham’s hotel industry has seen a fantastic boost over the last 12 months, with the opening of five new city centre hotels during 2012.

The new developments cover a range of accommodation types and budgets, and take the number of bedrooms within walking distance to The ICC to nearly 6,000. The new developments are:

  • Hotel La Tour – a 4 star hotel in Birmingham city centre, boasting a new concept in city centre accommodation, business services and dining
  • Hotel Indigo – the 52-room hotel opens in one of the city’s newest developments, The Cube. It will feature a spa and be co-located with a new Marco Pierre White restaurant
  • Hampton by Hilton – the 285-room hotel is the chain’s largest in Europe, following a £30m transformation, located within walking distance to The ICC
  • Travelodge – two new hotels in the Travelodge chain opened in the city centre, adding just under 300 bedrooms
