Take a look at the city and find out why more and more events are switching to Birmingham.
John Williams, Congress Chairman, BSAVA Congress
“BSAVA Congress is the largest small animal veterinary Exhibition in Europe, and remains the best place to go for the latest industry advances and exclusive deals. The Congress is of major importance to the veterinary industry as the biggest opportunity for exhibitors to launch new products, and showcase innovations. The Congress has been held in Birmingham for nearly 20 years – a clear sign of the confidence we have in the city to deliver a successful event! What’s more Birmingham continues to change with new openings and developments, meaning that the offer for delegates evolves year on year.
This year’s Congress was one of the biggest in recent years, attracting over 7500 delegates. The Birmingham welcome we received was as professional as ever with Birmingham Convention Bureau gong that extra mile to make delegates feel welcome. For example, they produced special offers and promotions so that attendees can make the most of their time in the city. We find Birmingham a very welcoming city and a great place to hold a conference.”
BSAVA Congress has taken place in Birmingham since 1991. This year’s event took place at The ICC and the NIA 8 – 11 April 2010, with the next one due 31 March – 3 April 2011.
Rotary Convention 2009
Brian Fuller, Chairman, Hosting Organisation committee
“Delegates left with a totally new appreciation of the UK’s second city. Its shops, restaurants, bars and cultural facilities were all much appreciated and admired, but the warmest comments were in respect of the friendliness of the “Brummies”. There can be few cities around the world capable so supporting such a huge event and with such success.”
“Birmingham is a great city, I’ll come back just to visit Birmingham and enjoy the surroundings.”
Jeanette Scarfe – Event Coordinator
“The BCB makes it so simple and much easier for us. They co-ordinate and organise over 500 rooms for us each year which enables us get on with planning the events and not have to worry about coordinating accommodation for our guests. There service is invaluable!”
Azahar Hussain – Director
“We took a major client with 12,500 guests for a four day conference to the city of Birmingham in October 2008. Marketing Birmingham provided guidance, local knowledge, assistance and expertise to ensure that the event was a huge success. Their liaison between many city based groups and external partners was invaluable.
Marketing Birmingham provided a local support service which included an accommodation booking service, travel and leisure information which was available both online and via telephone. This service proved immensely helpful in delivering a world-class event.
The team at Marketing Birmingham are conscientious, committed and hugely knowledgeable and this was highly appreciated by the team at Fingerprint Events.
We look forward to working with the team from Marketing Birmingham again in 2010 – when we return to the city.”
Dr Stuart Harrad
“The assistance of the BCB was invaluable in relieving entirely my team of the task of securing and managing accommodation for our 850 delegates from 46 countries. This – along with their help in recruiting a reliable social events organiser – allowed I and my team to get on with managing the scientific and technical aspects of running a major international symposium. I would recommend BCB to anyone else in a similar situation.”
